I love the Book of Mormon!

Hello everyone! It's been a busy week here in Virginia!

This week we had mission tour with Elder Johnson! We have had multiple meetings with him this past week and it's been amazing to learn and grow. My companion and I also had the pleasure of getting to take Sister Johnson out with us for an evening.

I've learned so much this week, but one thing I've really thought about is the Book of Mormon. It's the most important book in the entire world.

I know that the Book of Mormon can help you through all your hardships and trials. It can bring you so much peace and joy in your life. I promise that no matter what happens if you turn to the Book of Mormon you can find strength to overcome those hard times and challenges in your life. So... READ IT!!

I am so grateful for all of you and for your love and support. I love you all so much!

Virginia is for lovers

Happy valentine's day! Complete with a Dutchman cookie from home!
Hi everyone! It's been another wonderful week in Lincolnia.
This week I've tried a lot of new things. I knocked on my first house. It was crazy and it took so long to walk around neighborhoods. On Friday night we were in a highrise and a woman threatened to call the cops on us. It was a little bit scary if I'm being completely honest.
In honor of valentine's day, I wanted to talk a little bit about love. I think as a missionary it amazes me how much people love us. They invite us into their homes, they give us water, soda, snacks, sometimes even spicy African food. For the most part people are welcoming and willing to listen to our messags and give us a break from the cold. I have also noticed how my love for everyone has already increased so much. Sometimes I feel like my heart could burst because of how much I love all of our friends we are teaching and the people I meet on the street. It amazes me how full I feel. One time, sister Clark told me she thinks my love for people and the gospel oozes out my eyes, and I think she is right haha. I also feel so much love from my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  I know that God loves us so much he gave us commandments and guidelines to help keep us safe and protect us from evils. As we keep these commandments we show our love for God and he can bless us so much more. I know Heavenly Father loves his children so much, way more than we can comprehend. Never forget that God us on your side and he wants what is best for you!
I love you all so much. I am extremely grateful for all the love and support I feel from my friends and family at home. You are all amazing.

Changes

Hi everyone! I'm sure you are all on the edge of your seats waiting to hear how it went leading out this week. So let me tell you all about it.

Monday night and Tuesday morning was the last time sister Clark and I would be together. And our toilet flooded so we didnt even get the chance to do anything fun! We used all the extra towels in our apartment to clean up the water and it was still so wet. We eventually got out the box of clothes that sisters have left behind and used them to clean up the floor. It was an adventure for sure.

On Tuesday we had transfers. I am now with sister Topham! She is a great missionary.

This whole week I have been extremely stressed. It's like Sister Clark left and all our friends dropped off the face of the earth. We haven't been able to get in contact with 3 of our friends on date and somehow yesterday none of our friends made it to church. What made matters worse is that the elders in our ward had 10 friends there. During sacrament meeting I was feeling very down on myself, feeling like I failed our area. It feels like I have the entire area just resting on my shoulders weighing me down.

This week has been hard, I will admit that, but I've learned a lot. First, the power of prayer. And second, that no matter what is going on, you can always depend of Christ. He knows us, he has suffered all our pains and afflictions, sicknesses and infirmities. He did all that for me. He did it for you. I will admit, being a missionary is not easy. But we are representatives of Christ! He sacrificed for us, and being a missionary is just a small sacrifice that I'm willing to pay for him.

Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers. I love you all!

Exchanges, Transfers and Pink Eye!

Hi everyone! This week has been CRAZY!!
together again!  MTC companions

Exchanges!

We had exchanges on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. And wow exchanges really stress me out. But it's okay because it's always so much fun to get to know other sisters in the mission. I got to do exchanges with my MTC companion too and it was really good to see her again.

All week my eye had been bothering me. We thought it was weird but didnt have any time to deal with it because of exchanges. On Friday it was pretty bad and gross looking so we called the mission nurse and went to the doctors. Turns out I have pink eye. Yikes. So I probably spread my disease to a lot of people this week Haha.

On a more sad note, my companion sister Clark is getting transferred tomorrow and I have to lead out this week. I'm so overwhelmed and sad to say goodbye to sister Clark. She is my favorite. I love her so much. But I guess this next transfer is just another chance to learn and grow. And I know God wouldn't ask me to do this if he didnt think I could :)

Love you all and I'm so grateful for your support and prayers.
